Empowering Women. Connecting Through the Arts.
Strengthening Community.

The Women’s Art Festival is grassroots organization that celebrates and champions women’s creativity in the arts. Each year, we provide a forum for women artists to exchange ideas, display their work, and connect with local organizations. We are currently Canada’s longest running women’s art festival.

The Women’s Art Festival was started in Kingston, Ontario in the late 70’s by a group of women interested in promoting the work of women artists. The event has grown from its small roots to become a well-recognized and highly anticipated festival. It now features over 200 artists, two full days of local women’s music, dance and singer-songwriter performances, art installations, a silent auction, a children’s activity area, great food from local vendors, and over 4,000 visitors.

The Women’s Art Festival operates on the unceded ancestral territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabeg peoples. We acknowledge the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabeg peoples as the past, present, and future caretakers of this land. We are privileged to live, work and create in this territory.
